Learning is a lifelong experience.

 Adult learning enhances quality of life, creates opportunities for the individual and strengthens the community through increased participation, confidence and skills acquired by community members.

Anger as a Strength – For Women

Anger is a misunderstood emotion and energy.  This training is skill-based.  It provides opportunities and techniques to express anger using tools of assertiveness. (Max 12)

Menopause for Women

This workshop is for you if you are starting menopause, experiencing full-on symptoms, post menopausal or just curious about what is ahead. We will look at different aspects, physical, emotional, spiritual, social and psychological. We will have guest speakers and discussion.

Chemical Free Household Eliminate the need for expensive chemically based cleaners and learn how to substitute natural substances and herbs for your home. Derive some satisfaction by making these cost effective, safe and natural products, which only take a few moments to prepare. Materials cost to tutor $25. Learn how to make your own cleansers, toners, moisturisers, gels and lip balms from totally chemical free natural ingredients. Materials cost to Tutor $49. (Max 9). Date: Thurs 10 & Thurs 17 May 7pm – 10pm at Cottage Hill Herb Farm 2 Bridge Rd Birchville Upper Hutt 2x Thurs Fee: $40

Hair Care Products & Lip Balms Learn how to make superior and chemical free lip balms and haircare products easily and inexpensively from natural ingredients. Materials cost to Tutor $28. (Max 9) Date: Thurs 28 June 7pm – 10pm at Cottage Hill Herb Farm 2 Bridge Rd Birchville Upper Hutt Fee: $40

Natural Deodorants Learn how to make a selection of chemically free deodorants. You will learn how to create a roll-on, a spray and a solid stick deodorant during this workshop. During this workshop we show you how simple it is to make your own healing ointments, salves and chest rubs from beeswax, oils and pure essential oils. Create pure natural and superior products at a fraction of the cost of the chemical nasties and learn just how wonderful herbs really are. Materials cost to tutor $27. COOKING CLASSES WITH A DIFFERENCE

Italian Cuisine

Italian cooking has rapidly become a favourite for New Zealanders. Bala teaches you how to make your own pasta and soups; you will learn to use meat, chicken, vegetables and cheese in unusual ways to create main dishes and some mouth-watering desserts. Chinese/Thai Cuisine Chinese has been a  favourite of New Zealanders for some time but now Thai cuisine has taken over with most aromatic herbs and spices some hot some not so hot. You will learn some old Chinese favourites and some nice tasty ones in soups steamed, and stirfried dishes in both. Over the years Bala has noticed what Kiwis really like so get ready to learn how to use the Indian ingredients in proper way. Meat, chicken, fish, vegetables, rice, rotis, nans, parathas, and stuffed parathas and some tasty side dishes are offered. Learn how to make your own curry powder. The W.E.A. Ramblers
